Circulation Pump Parts Circ pump parts for the "heartbeat" of your spa.
The average life of a Hot Spring circulation pump in our area is eleven years. These circulation pumps get a workout, circulating 5000 gallons every twenty four hours. The human heart pumps one fifth of that at a 1000 gallons every twenty four hours. We have taken spas in on trade that were over twenty years old with the
original circ pump. However, we have seen poor water chemistry ruin circ pumps in less than three years. Most premature circ pump failures were the result of tablet dispensers (floaters).
Beware....
Dispensers have been sold as low maintenance remedies to water care. They always over dispense shortening the life of all hot tubs.
Floaters often end up in the filter area, where the circ pump gets its water, dispensing concentrated amounts of chlorine/ bromine around the clock. This high oxidizing concentration moves slowly through the circ pump and heating system eating away at those components. The remedy The best alternative to tablets sanitizers is a granular chlorine (sodium dichlor) or a granular bromine (sometimes called Brominating Concentrate) This powder is added to the spa after each use.

Dale, I appreciate the info the other day on where to look for the leak, It was the standpipe nut to the filter. I was able to get to tight with the old standpipe. No more leaks.
I'm just about ready to start up with the minerals. I compared the filter they are the same. Thanks again Hide
