The function of this nipple is to provide a place for the 1/4" vinyl tube to connect onto the suction side of the jet pump then over to the heating/circulation pumps plumbing. The impeller screws onto the motor shaft (right hand threads) and is secured by the impeller screw (left hand threads). Since the Wavemaster 7000 (v.1) was put into production in the first quater of 1993 you'll need to double check the serial number ranges of the chart on this page. This metal base is no longer available from us or the manufacturer. You can use the plastic base item # 70397. The plastic base is shorter so the pump has to be elevated using a piece of plywood. The motor replacement is for the pump used in the 1993 Grandee only. It will not adapt to any other Wavemaster 7000 (v.1) "wet ends" used from 1993-1995. This o-ring is typically replaced when any "wet end" jet pump parts are changed out as well as various Hot Spot & Tiger River heaters. Its purpose is to divert heated air from the motor through an exhaust hose to the exterior of the spa. Cool running pump motors last longer!
